like electricity. Role Purpose: Wasabi is seeking a Software
Engineer to join the team that’s responsible for some of our core
services. In this role, you will help build and improve some core
components which serve high volume customer requests and read/write
large datasets at extremely high throughput, by using a combination
of databases, caching, message queues, and other software
constructs. Your skills in software development and problem
solving, as well as your knowledge in distributed systems will be
tested and improved on a regular basis. To be successful in this
role, you should have a solid foundation in software design and
development, as well as strong experience in building large scale
services serving high volume traffic. You are expected to
collaborate with team members and be a strategic problem-solver.
Also, excellent communication skills and ability to connect with
other engineers will be greatly valued. Responsibilities: o Build,
develop, maintain, and test software components that serve some of
the key components of Wasabi API services. o Troubleshoot, debug,
and solve software issues and production incidents. o Understand,
improve, and redesign some of our key services to help them scale
and improve reliability. o Contribute to the team with proactive
and continuous improvements, such as building better tools and
improving existing processes. o Help other team members on design
reviews and code reviews. Requirements : o 7 years of software
engineering experience, preferably in modern distributed services.
o Proficiency with modern programing language such Golang, Java,
and Python. o Hands-on experience with database technologies such
as MySQL, RabbitMQ, CockroachDB, or Cassandra. o Understanding of
caching and message queues is a plus. o Understanding of web
services and modern API best practices (HTTP, REST, gRPC). o
Practical experience with Agile software development principles and
methodologies. o Knowledge of common DevOps and CI/CD tools and
processes. o Knowledge of deployment tools such as Ansible,
Terraform or equivalent is a plus.
