Neighborhood Healthcare PACE is a managed medical plan built around
surrounding participants with a team of physicians, nurses, social
workers, therapists and care coordinators to help them maintain
good health and a good quality of life. Our goal is to keep our
seniors happy and healthy at home surrounded by their family and
community. As a private, non-profit 501(C) (3) community health
organization, we serve over 500k medical, dental, and behavioral
health visits from more than 100,000 people annually. With two PACE
centers located in Riverside County, our PACE program is positioned
to serve over 650 senior participants. The Occupational Therapy
Assistant will implement occupational therapy programs and provide
occupational therapy treatments to participants to help facilitate
increased independence and functioning. This role will adhere to
departmental, professional, and regulatory standards of care. This
role/site is eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus! Schedule: M-F
7:30/8:00am-4:00/4:30pm. This position is fully onsite.
Responsibilities Provides individualized occupational therapy
interventions, including application of therapeutic techniques in
such areas as, cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination,
endurance, mobility, perceptual awareness, sensory awareness,
sitting and standing tolerance, balance, activities of daily
living, joint protection, work simplification, orientation, and
physical agent modalities Provides effective and efficient delivery
of rehabilitation services, follows an established plan of care,
and adheres to departmental/participant schedules Works with
members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and
activities consistent with participant needs and capabilities
Instructs participants, family members, and other caregivers in the
skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program
under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist Implements the
participant’s individualized treatment plan as established by the
Occupational Therapist, rehabilitation team, and Interdisciplinary
Team members Ensures participants and families receive the
high-quality services Prepares and monitors safety in case of
emergency and attends to good body mechanics Cleans, maintains,
identifies, and reports equipment repair needs, as needed Completes
documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely
manner Complies with safety policies and procedures, identifying
and immediately reporting any potential or actual unsafe acts or
conditions to management Ensure a safe environment for oneself,
co-workers, contractors, participants, visitors, and others Attends
and participates in workshops and seminars to keep abreast of
current changes in the occupational therapy field and to maintain a
professional status Seeks better ways for delivering services and
communicating with participants while demonstrating proficiency in
delivering age-specific care Demonstrates respect for and promotes
participant rights, including dignity, self-determination, access
to care, confidentiality, and independence Participates in
activities that link Neighborhood Healthcare to its communities
Collaborates with staff, peers, and contractors to meet
Neighborhood Healthcare PACE goals Complies with all Neighborhood
Healthcare policy and procedures Qualifications
Education/Experience Graduated from an American Occupational
Therapy Association accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant
Program required Valid CA Occupational Therapist Assistant License
required One year experience of providing and coordinating
occupational therapy assistant services to a frail or elderly
population required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved source is
required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of
employment AHA-approved courses include an in-person, hands-on
skills check with a certified instructor using a mannequin to
demonstrate CPR and emergency response techniques Online-only BLS
courses without a live skills check do not meet this requirement
Additional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including
superior composition, typing and proofreading skills Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form Knowledgeable about and experience with occupational
therapy necessary to treat participants and manage complex problems
Ability to provide care for frail elderly Ability to successfully
manage multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent planning and
organizational ability Ability to work as part of a team as well as
independently Ability to work with highly confidential information
in a professional and ethical manner Physical Requirements Ability
to lift/carry 20 lbs/weight Ability to stand for long periods of

hour, depending on experience. This role/site is eligible for a
$2,500 signing bonus! Compensation Disclosure: The posted salary
range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While
this range represents the broader classification of the role,
actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but
not limited to: the candidate’s overall knowledge, skills, and
experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity
within the organization, Budgetary considerations and
organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is
not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
