Job Description:
Patient Care Technician Full-time Day at Providence Health and
Services summary: The Patient Care Technician provides direct basic
nursing care under the supervision of an RN while also supporting
clerical functions related to patient documentation. This role
requires certification as a CNA or EMT, BLS certification, and
experience with patient care and medical terminology. The position
is full-time, day shift, located at Mission Hospital Regional
Medical Center, focusing on supporting clinical staff and patient
care within a hospital unit. Description Under general supervision
by the RN, the dual role Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary provides
nursing staff with clerical support to assist in facilitating
patient care and is responsible for providing basic nursing care
for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified
area. The Patient Care Tech/Secretary is responsible for collecting
and reporting information to the supervising RN and completion of
all patient care related documentation. Providence caregivers are

them. Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training - For hires
after 10/31/16: Completion of a CNA program or, Completion of first
semester nursing program or, EMT program completion. California
Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire or, California
Emergency Medical Technician License upon hire. National Provider
BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. Experience with basic
data entry. Preferred Qualifications: Coursework/Training -
Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course or
knowledge of medical terminology. 1 year of acute patient care
experience or, 6 months experience in a direct patient care
environment providing clerical or patient support related to

for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage
range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job
experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base
pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role,
