Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Redlands,
California, 92373! Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery
Duration: 13 Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years
of experience required License: Valid RN License required at the
time of submission Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS,
NRPCertifications preferred: AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: Basic,
Intermediate, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring experience required E/O
weekend required Description: Labor and Delivery RN for a community
hospital. Two years of experience is required. Basic, Intermediate,
and Advanced Fetal Monitoring experience is essential. Patient
provider support includes interpretation services, IV teams, lift
teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid
response teams, respiratory services, social services,
transportation, and unit secretary. Provider coverage includes
hospitalists and anesthesiologists. Experience with Omnicell med
system and Meditech Expanse EMR is necessary. Strong SBAR
communication skills are required. Required skills include:
Facility births/month: 100-200 Labor and Delivery experience
Assisting with sterile speculum exams (effacement, dilation,
station, presentation) Non-Stress Tests (NST) Reflex checks, edema
assessment, clonus Sterile vaginal exams Use of External Fetal
Heart Monitoring Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart
rate patterns Starting and maintaining peripheral IVs Use of
infusion pumps and IV monitoring Administration of anticonvulsants,
antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy,
pitocin (oxytocin), prostaglandins, and terbutaline Amnioinfusion
assistance Assisting with vaginal deliveries Circulating for
C-sections Recovering after C-sections Collecting cord samples
Infant identification and security banding Neonatal resuscitation
Epidural and general anesthesia management Pain assessment and
management Breastfeeding support and lactation assistance
Incisional care and episiotomy management Foley catheter insertion
Care for fundus, lochia, and perineum Experience with vaginal
deliveries and C-sections Understanding of postpartum hemorrhage
and pregnancy-induced hypertension Experience with D&C and
tubal ligation Experience with high-risk antepartum situations and
multiple births Understanding of the management of postpartum
complications and newborn assessments Interdisciplinary support
includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services,
interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, and social
services. Basic Fetal Monitoring required within 1 month of hire
for new graduates or RNs without Labor and Delivery experience.
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required upon hire for experienced
RNs. Advanced Fetal Monitoring required within 2 years of
employment. Valid CA License needed. Two supervisor references
