Controller
Job Summary
The Controller will plan and direct all accounting functions for
the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation of the accounting department, which will
include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank
reconciliations, and some inventory management. Tasks
- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures
for activities, such as budget administration, cash and credit
management, and accounting.
- Coordinate and direct the accounting department and budgeting
activities in the organization
- Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and
reserve levels
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business
activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and
other reporting needs
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other
financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel
actions
- Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected
operations to identify development opportunities and areas where
improvement is needed.
- Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial
transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal
requirements and statutes.
- Advise management on short-term and long-term financial
objectives, policies, and actions.
- Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units
regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and
efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
- Lead staff training and development in budgeting and financial
management areas.
- Prepare financial information so that outside accountants can
complete tax returns.
- Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting,
billing, collections, and budgeting duties.
- Coordinate with third party CPAs and other consulting
firms
- Coordinate tax planning work.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned Required
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in accounting software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in Netsuite
- Experience with Salesforce a plus Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration
required.
- Seven years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant
designation preferred.
